What surgery would be best for my round face? I'd like to be longer, angular & thinner. A chin implant? Jaw liposuction? (photo)

Thank you for your pictures.  I agree with Dr. Eppley that you need more length of your lower face.  Vertically lengthening your chin can give you the angular look that you desire.

You are too young for any form of a facelift. What you need is a chin implant that will make your lower face vertically longer and little bit more horizontal projection. (vertical lengthening chin implant) That will essentially create a similar effect to what you are illustrating with your hands.

catherineshim, I see a pretty girl with little need for surgery. I'm sure you'll find someone willing to do something. Be careful and choose a busy experienced surgeon who does "only faces". Please do not do midface or even neck liposuction. Good luck

Everyone's facial shape is always a little different from the next. You have a very pretty face and at your age, I would recommend that you don't over-pursue the desire for the "perfect" face. You will spend a lot of ill-directed money and may end up worse than what you started with. A good cosmetologist can show you how properly applied make-up can give you that same desired appearance of a thinner face.

  Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers or facial implants for over 30 years.  From the photos, your chin is weak and there is the typical "baby fat" in front and below the cheeks.  These combine to make your face a wide oval shape.    Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.    A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin.  Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective.  At 18, years of age, placing a chin implant and either using a small, focused amount of dermal filler to shape the cheeks seems reasonable.  I perform chin augmentation, with a chin implant, in 30 minutes or less using a local anesthetic.Hope this helps
