I am writing this review 11 days post op. I had a slight hump, deviated septum and bulbous tip that needed fixed. Before flying to Seoul I had a virtual consultation. The doctor and staff are highly professional. Communication was excellent and he made sure I understood the procedure fully. Additionally I had two cc of korean kybella in my double chin (which is now gone). On my final day I received a facial treatment to remove dead skin and I was very happy with it as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking this procedure.
I had the most amazing plastic surgery experience with Dr. Kim Jin Sung at Item Clinic. I wanted PS to improve my already good image by enlarging my eyes (height and length), and streamlining my nose. My nose was slightly short and bulbous, though it wasn’t a terrible nose. Some have complimented my nose in the past, and it has looked good in photos and good lighting. But I had some insecurities about my nose/ midface region which showed up in bad lighting. I got to meet with Dr. Kim for a consultation on eye surgery and primary rhinoplasty. Dr. Kim was honest, professional, and extremely experienced, using various techniques to measure my eyes, made recommendations, and even told me my condition was good and he would be merely touching up my looks. I showed him wish pics (pics of his two patients) and he said he would do what he could to meet the look. Evelyn was the wonderful consultant that helped me through the entire process, from consultation, pricing, pre op, op, post op and stitch removal. She was very kind, compassionate, cheerful, and eased my fears and worries. The eye surgery was painful, as I had to be under semi sedation, but for the most part, was worth it. The surgery took about 3 hours, and after that, the post surgery was probably the hardest part. The stitch removal hurt like F. My face had so much bruising and swelling, I didn’t know how to interpret the results. The post op care was very good, and I got a VIP facial. Evelyn and the staff remarked that my healing was taking a bit longer than the usual, but I did my best to take Evelyn’s advice to keep my head upright, avoid alcohol and spicy foods, and walk away the swelling. I also drank lots of pumpkin juice, liquids, and porridge. About 10 days post op was when I started to transform from beast to beauty. My eye swelling and bruising stuck around for awhile, but my nose swelling significantly dropped on day 10. Within 10 days to a month is when I pretty much fully healed, and my face is needless to say, beautiful. The results have been a success. I was pretty before but now my face is exactly what I dreamed of. My nose is much more streamlined and narrow with a more defined and pointed tip. The doc advised against alar plasty, and I am glad he did. My nose didn’t significantly change in size but it is much more projected, and the tip more projected, which makes my nose look more dainty and perfect. I just have a more sophisticated, feminine, and flawless appearance now. My eyes are beautiful and huge. I feel so incredibly confident in myself now. My self-image has skyrocketed. I actually wear less makeup now - my no makeup face is even better than my old face full of makeup. The healing process took longer than what most people experience, but my results are greater than I expected. My results are also tailored to my face. I feel like a Kpop Star! I love myself more than I ever have. I love how much I smile and laugh. It’s incredible how this experience has changed my self-image and how I feel around people, how I interact with people. And I can’t stop smiling! My smile is the smile I’ve always wanted. My loved ones are so happy with my results, especially my spouse, who was against it originally. I hope the results are forever. Never going under the knife again! (Post-op 4 mos writing this entry). Thank you Item, Evelyn, as Dr. Kim for a truly life-changing experience.
Surgery is performed under GA and 1 night hospitalization is required to ensure that there is no internal bleeding. Satisfy with my results after after 8months from my day of surgery. This procedure need a lot of patience and positive thoughts during recovering process. Definitely worth a shot to achieve a curvy and define jawline!
I always dreamed of this perfect dolly eyes like the K-pop artists on TV. As an Asian, eye shape takes up a large part of how you look. Very asymmetric eyes has bothered me ever since and this hasn’t been corrected with the first surgery and this was the biggest issue for me to have a consultation with the plastic surgeon. I wanted to make my eyes to look dolly and even. When I researched about the Asian eyelid surgery, I found out about the extension of the eye width. Well, basically I can have an incision in the corner of my eyes. I was also interested in changing the shape of my nose from my previous rhinoplasty. I still felt that I did not have the sharp nose I’ve been wanting. I once had rhinoplasty couple of years ago, but still not satisfied with the result. So I wanted to make a correction to my nose for the last time. I’ve done enough research and enough studies on the surgeries I would be facing, so here I am trying to share the experience of my own surgery which might help others who would need information and experiences to make up a decision, just like what I did. So now I am very ready to get this thing going. I cannot wait to see the difference already. Updated on 11 Dec 2016: The operation had finished. No Pain, No Gain...right? some bruising which was not as bad as I thought compare to the first one, but yes, with swelled me..can't recognize myself.. Hoping for the best.. Updated on 15 Dec 2016: I look more like myself now after doing lots and lots of cold pack that I was told from many people around me who had similar surgery. I was told not to do cold pack since I have done fat grafting. I just be extra careful not to encounter with the areas I've done my fat graft while doing cold pack. well, it was a little troublesome to apply it besides my forehead, front cheek, but I think I did well. I really think the deswelling went very well and I was able to face myself faster than I thought LOL The nurses at the clinic removed a huge cotton stick the day after my surgery and this gave me such a relief. I didn't think this little thing up in my nostril would bother me that much, but I guess it was worth it to do that since it protects the shape of my unstable nose. I feel much better as you can tell...LOL I will update my recovery and share with you guys out there who are seeking for some real experience review just like me before the surgery. Updated on 28 Dec 2016: Recovery in process!!! Feeling much better now and finally start to find myself. I look like myself now which makes me feel a lot better because I was a little depressed from looking at myself. So, here is my deswelling plan and I hope this helps a lot of others who are going through the same. I tried to walk around a lot even inside the house. I am not saying I walk for about 5 min and rest, but I at least walked for an hour at least in total per day. I also drink lots of hot tea and water. I applied warm pack everyday as much as I can to enhance the blood circulation which helps with deswelling as well. I was not told to clean the incision area , but I did it anyway and applied Neosporin. I can't wait to see my result soooooooon~ Updated on 6 Jan 2017: These are the photos of me after the stitch removal. My stitches were removed 7 days post operation. Everything seems to be good and healing well. Not too bad right? I feel much and much better now. Updated on 24 Jan 2017: I took some pictures of myself wanting to see the recovery process. I am going into 10 days post op. I feel much better now and am able to wear make up already. After a week, the deswelling speeds up very obviousely and now I really feel like being free from things restrained me during the recovery period. Except the bruises on the eyelid area, I look pretty normal so I feel a lot more comfortable hanging out with friends now. Updated on 2 Feb 2017: Now I'm rolling into 3 week period. I think I am very satisfied with the result already. I could tell what it would look like already. I'm just thankful that the eyes and nose don't look so abnormal or too puffy even in this early period. I've been looking into the mirror so much I forgot how I looked before the surgery. The side profile on my nose area and the cheek still has some swelling, but I could tell that they are going away over time. Hopefully, I can put some eye make-up soon....this will make a lot of difference. Updated on 12 Feb 2017: It's already been almost a month now and surprisingly, it wasn't too difficult for me to wait to see the result. I can even take selfies without the make-up on. This is how much confidence I got through this revisional surgery. I hope this would be my last time doing any kind of touch up.
When the nose bridge is not high enough, a nose bridge implant can be placed. This is often known as dorsal augmentation. It enlarges and straightens the nose bridge to proper proportions. The best types of implants to use are silicone and Gore-Tex. Please note that silicone is easier to remove if you ever need to and so it is recommended in most cases. If you have a wide nose bridge then the sides of the nose bridge can be reduced via an osteotomy to provide a more refined look. This procedure narrows the nose bridge and if needed, an implant can be placed on the nose bridge for added height.
Thank you for your question. It is feasible and I would recommend Nasal hump reduction and Tip rhinoplasty to make your nose smoother and smaller for more of a feminine look. With this picture attached, your nasal bone and cartilage are quite prominent, after the procedure, of course you can see the difference like smoother line and smaller size, but please note that there will still be some limitation in size. Good luck!
In the case of facial contuoring surgery, it is the best to have an in person consultation with X-ray and CT scan for the accurate diagnosis. Only with this picture from the side you uploaded, I would recommend V-line osteotomy surgery(Mandible fracture together with Genioplasty) for your jaw line. It can make your face slimmer and more balanced. I would also recommend accusculpt(laser lipo-sculpting) for your under chin, this procedure can help to make your underchin smoother and slimmer. but i suggest you to undergo accsculpt more than 3months after the facial contuoring surgery for the overall outcome.
Different patients have different conditions, but in general cases, after 2~3 months of recovery you can safely skydive. If you had open rhinoplasty almost 1 year ago, there is no problem to do skydive. But If you still want to make sure, you should talk to your surgeon to make sure agian. Good luck and enjoy the skydive!
Breast reduction is one of the operations with the highest risk of complications realated to smoking. I recommend people who smoke and are considering plastic surgery stop smoking 6 weeks before the surgery. By giving up smoking 6 weeks prior to surgery, you can greatly reduce the risk of complications and breathing problems that can occur under anaesthesia. And It is also consistently reported that high percent of patients who smoked before and after breast reduction surgery displayed impaired healing of the surgical wounds. How many weeks you refrain from smoking before surgery can also make a huge difference. Not smoking after surgery speeds up recovery and avoids unnecessary post-surgical complications. Avoiding drinking alcohol before and after the surgery can help with healing after surgery. Good luck!
