Yes you would benefit from a rhinoplasty rather than just an alarplasty and these changes can be made in closed fashion. There is no one nose or set of features that typifies a certain ethnicity. Thank you for your question. Most people think of them of an alarplasty as modification of the alar rim. Given the wide bony base of your nose I think a full rhinoplasty would be ideal for you. In addition to this one might consider dorsal augmentation with cartilage graft. This would all be done in conjunction with suture techniques to refine the tip of your nose.
