More defined jawline on 23 year old male? Would sculptra make it more defined, or any filler? (Photo)

Sculptra is great for contouring the face and jawline.  It is best to combine with another volumizing filler as sculptra is the "foundation" and helps increase collagen and give support and lift, but the other fillers like Radiesse or Voluma etc can give immediate volume and definition to the jaw. A chin implant would give more definition. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  It is common for men to seek enhanced jawline contour and dermal fillers can provide a safe, easy, and predictable outcome.  Sculptra can be used to augment and define the jawline but often I start patients with a thick hyaluronic acid filler like Voluma for an immediate effect followed by Sculptra for a more gradual augmentation.  Hope this helps.

I have used Sculptra along the jawline to help give more definition.  This can be a good option, depending on how much more definition is needed.  In cases where more projection is needed, sometimes Radiesse can work better because it is a fairly stiff filler, whereas Sculptra is a collagen stimulating agent.

Hi, this is a great question. I like to use either Sculptra or Radiesse for jaw contouring and definition in men. I choose Sculptra if my patient has a longer timeline and wants correction over time since Sculptra often takes a few months to start to show noticeable improvement. I use Radiesse alone for a more immediate effect or add it after Sculptra has fully kicked in for additional enhancement if needed. An in person consultation is best as a doctor can look at your overall facial proportions and guide you.

Sculptura is an excellent filler to help define the jawline. This filler is unique in that it stimulates the body to make collagen over time, so results are a bit slower and occur over weeks. In my experience you would have excellent results. It can be used in combination with other fillers (I like Voluma) that work right away. You bring up an excellent point about your glands -- the submandibular gland is located in the area of concern and use of Botox in this area can shrink the gland. Thank you for your question, and for submitting your photo.  Sculptra is one of my favorite products for subtly lifting and contouring the jawline in my male patients.  Sculptra is a collagen stimulating filler - after injection, it actually promotes your own body to produce new collagen to add volume and contour.  Initial results are typically visible in about 6-8 weeks, and continue to improve for a few months after each treatment.  Most patients require 2-3 sessions for best results.  I would recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss the best treatment plan for you.  Best of luck!

Sculptra is a filler that stimulates collagen and is ideal for loss of volume in the cheeks, smile lines and sometimes temples but it would not be my first choice to define the jawline. Without additional photos from other angles it is very hard to say what would be an ideal solution for you but I can say that the right filler can provide great definition to the jawline. It is important to understand that with any filler it must be repeated (timeline depends on which filler you get) to maintain the results. I would recommend an in-person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist to discuss your options and determine the treatment plan that best fits your needs and goals.

Sculptra is an option.  Approximately 3 vials total may be indicated in this area depending on the goal or amount of projection needed.  Sculptra stimulates collagen, therefore the treatments are usually spaced at the minimum 3 weeks apart.  The final result is seen approximately 3 months from the last Sculptra treatment.Radiesse is an injectable which works nicely in the jawline area.  One of the differences between Radiesse and Sculptra is that you will have immediate volumization with Radiesse which lasts on average 18 months, whereas, Sculptra takes a few months to stimulate collagen in order to visualize the final results.  Sculptra, once treated to optimization, lasts approximately 2 years.Either of these treatments are a good choice.Best wishes,
