Bags under your eyes and less than 20 years of age usually points to a medical reason such as allergies not under control, blepharochalasis or other causes. These conditions should be ruled out prior to havind surgery at such a yound age.
Dear PulchritudeeThank you for your question! It would be helpful to have some photos to review. You may have other members in your family with the same eye and cheek shape. There are several options to change the shape in the area- fillers, botox, and surgery .With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD
Photos would be helpful. Typically if you have excess skin and fat then a lower lid blepharoplasty would be helpful. Consult with several board-certified plastic surgeons to discover your best options.
Please post some photos so we can help you. Without photos there is no way to give you an opinion on what can be done/
You should seek out a consultation with an experienced oculo-facial plastic surgeon, if possible. Festoons are "cheek bag" that are present below the bony orbital socket and are a result of a potential space between skin and muscle which can get fluid trapped in it and look "puffy". Bags under the eyes are usually the result of fat pockets that are normally under the eye starting to protrude. In young people this is most likely due to volume loss in the mid face and is often best treated with filler, rather than removal of the "eye bags" since having fat behind the lower eyelid is normal (it's just the bulging appearance that causes the bag). Find a board certified injection specialist who is knowledgable both in performing blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) as well as filler so you can review your options. Most people your age, in my experience, have a very natural and long lasting result with non surgical, filler treatment for this issue but without photos, there is no way I can guide you.Best of luck!
Hard to give you any advice without photographs. If you have excess fat under the eyes then a lower lid blepharoplasty may be beneficial.
Hey there. Festooning typically happens in people who are much older than you. Usually young patients who suffer from lower eyelid puffiness have poorly controlled nasal allergies. Swelling inside your nose will frequently cause puffiness under your eyes. It's usually worse in the morning then gets better through the day. Dark circles are also frequently a result of nasal allergies. I would start by seeing a facial plastic surgeon who also has training in otolaryngology. They can steer you in the right direction. I hope this helps.
Without pictures it is hard to say what the best treatment plan would be for you. Please seek an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to find out what your options are. Good luck, Dean Vistnes.
Thank you for your question. Asymmetry of the eyes is very common and usually is the result of asymmetry of the bony orbit which is not correctable. However there are other causes. I recommend that you have an in person consultation with an Occuloplastic Surgeon for a proper diagnosis.
As a cosmetic oculofacial plastic surgeon practicing for 20 years, I have a background in eye surgery and plastic surgery of the eyes and face. Ptosis is something I deal with a lot in my practice. People generally have a difference of about 1-2 millimeters between the two eyes. That’s part of t...
Every physician is difficult, but waiting a few weeks to pluck strong hairs would be okay. Its probably better to wait to shave and wax then should be about a month for your surgery. We recommend 2 weeks of limited strenuous activity, but with an eyelid lift, it would be at your discretion...
