I have a fat pubic area, ive had this issue my hole life cause of this i've gone thru life with low self esteem, feeling different...im now 31 im tired of not feeling pretty n normal!!! And not being able to wear tight close, i cant wear jeans either if i do i wear long shirts to cover this area. Well can i get a lipo in this area is it possible my pubic area will ever look some what normal and nice? Follow with a tummy tuck im ready to feel normal and pretty.

Answer: Large fat pubic area/ Mons Area Large fat pad in the pubic area can be treated with liposuction. In my experience, this is rarely treated alone, since women with this problem also have lower abdominal fullness and often need that liposuctioned as well or require a tummy tuck at the same time. You do not state your height and weight or posted photos, so it is difficult to give specific advise. See a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Answer: Treatment of mons pubis Having excessive layers of fatty tissue in the mons pubis is not uncommon.This area is often easily treated with liposuction.On occasion, this area may also have excessive skin laxity.When that is the case, the results from liposuction become more limited.For those patients, it is sometimes necessary to have some form of skin removal procedure.If you are planning on having an abdominoplasty, then any potential excess skin would be removed at that time.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
