Wound infection 6 weeks post-op explant and lift. I don't trust my surgeon. What should I do?

finding the right Dr. is extremely challenging especially with the number of online platforms and resources available. There a lot of great Dr's available. Make sure he/she is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Definitely check to make sure your choice specializes in the procedure you want and spend the time to read through patient testimonials. There is a number of different sites where you can check for reviews (Realself, yelp, google, etc.).You can always pick up the phone and call around also, find an office you feel comfortable with and set up a few consultations.

From your description your situation needs immediate care. I encourage you to visit another board certified surgeon in your area if you no longer wish to see yours.

You are very lucky you no longer have implants. If so, it would be an emergency.
You should have a clean culture taken, a sonogram to make sure you do not have any seromas (if indicated).
It may just be a localized 'superficial' wound infection that can be managed with oral antibiotics (matched to the wound culture) and local wound care.
You should return to your plastic surgeon for their evaluation and then seek another board certified plastic surgeon if dissatisfied.

You need to be seen immediately by a plastic surgeon. Please call your surgeon now. If you delay, the implant may need to be removed and you may have to deal with an open wound. You can also go to an emergency room at a hospital, not a clinic.
