Should I consider Mastopexy after explant? (photos)

The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery.

Hello @tspain14, thank you for your question. The outcome depends on what you expect and what you discuss with the surgeon who will perform the surgery. I believe that the best possible result for an explantation is to remove the prostheses, remove the capsules, and perform a breast reconstruction with the BRALAN technique (Breast Reconstruction Anatomical Lift Augmentation). it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. There is a chance that you will need a breast lift after removal of implants. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

In general a lift procedure at the time of explant will offer most patients the best long term results. Also, the larger the implants removed, the more I tend to recommend lift as well. I think you could be very happy with doing the explant and lift together. A formal consultation is necessary and I recommend you work with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Based on your photos and provided information you should consider a mastopexy with your implant removal. This will help to reshape your breasts and remove excess skin after explant. Your surgeon will be able to provide additional information after an in person exam.

You do have some sagging and will probably need a lift. However, an examination is needed to see if a lift can be done at the same time as the removal, or needs to wait.
