Answer: Sculptra As with any injectable, there is always the risk of bruising and/or swelling which can last up to two weeks. Head elevation, cold compresses, and arnica montana may decrease the amount of bruising/swelling that may occur.

Answer: Bruising concern Hello! As with any treatment, yes, there is a risk of bruising. This can be increased due to your medical history, certain medications you may take, and if you drink alcohol or exercise too soon after treatment. It can also heighten your risk depending on the area that is being treated. To lessen your risk, I would recommend avoiding alcohol and ibuprofen/NSAIDs for 5-7 days before your treatment as well as avoiding vitamins (as long as they are not a medical necessity). After your treatment, you may ice the area and avoid exercising or drinking alcohol for 3-5 days. In addition, if you do have any bruising, you may apply arnica cream with vitamin K which will help any bruising resolve quicker. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Answer: Bruising with Sculptra There is a risk for bruising any time an injector inserts a needle into the skin. You can reduce your risk of bruising by certain lifestyle modifications 2 weeks before receiving injections. Avoid things that can thin the blood (for example: Aspirin, Advil, Vitamin E, Omega-3’s). You may also take oral Arnica, Traumeel or Bromelain as a prophylactic measure to prevent bruising. As a note, Do not stop taking medications that have been prescribed by your physician. Just in case, schedule your appointment when you can afford to have 3-5 days of time to be bruised.
