Can you use Sculptra on stretch marks?

Hi Doctors, I have a question, I am currently doing microneedling procedures and heard that some doctors at the end of the treatment plan inject sculptra to where the stretch marks are at. Is this something new? Is this something that can probably help on top of microneedling? I'm thinking about asking my dermatologist about it.

Stretch marks can't officially be ""cured,"" and it will take a combination approach and consistent treatment to see great results. However, there are a multitude of treatments currently available that can be utilized. I recommend a combination of microneedling/PRP, lasers (Erbium, Fraxel, Excel V, Pulsed Dye Laser, Laser Genesis, Yellow laser) or radiofrequency devices like Intensif, Fractora, Skinfinitiy, and Venus Viva. I appreciate you asking this question. In short, yes, Sculptra can be used on stretch marks. Sculptra stimulates the production of collagen in your body, resulting in improved elasticity and smoothness. That in-and-of-itself is an amazing benefit to this product! But, there are some negatives to consider as well. Including, cost, side effects, and up-keep. If these marks were to re-appear what would your next step be? Only you and your doctor can decide this via an in-person consultation.

I have never tried using Sculptra to improve stretch marks.  Sometimes when Sculptra is injected in the face, it can help to improve the quality of the skin overlying the treated area.  I am not certain if Sculptra would improve stretch marks though.

Fractionated lasers, pulse dye laser, fractionated RF, PRP, and topical tretinoin are the good options for stretch marks. I don't use Sculptra for stretch marks at this time.

The use of Sculptra in "stretch marks" is very unpredictable to results and amounts needed. I might recommend a test area of about 5 cm using 1-2 vials oe 10-20 mixed cc's. If after 6 weeks seeing no improvements than it is not gong to be effective for your stretch mark issues. Expect fee for test area in the $1,200 ranges.
