Simply put, Sculptra is very safe and relatively complication free, if applied in the right hands. It is a bio-stimulant , injected into a deeper plane than fillers, encouraging the body to produce collagen. I can safely say that I have used Sculptra for over a decade and have never seen a nodule related to it. There are several rules of the road when using Sculptra: 1) the product must be reconstituted 5-7 days before use in sterile water; I ask my patients to give us 1 week notice, 2) the product must be injected into a deeper plane, adjacent to bone; it should not be used in free soft tissue like the lips, 3) the areas injected must be massaged (5x per day for 5 minutes for 5 days). In my opinion, it is a far more problem free way of adding volume to the face than fat, which is inconsistent and more prone to door and injection site problems.
I would consider Sculptra very safe when performed correctly. It is not common to develop nodules from Sculptra, but it is a possibility, as with any injectable filler. In my opinion, it would be fine to work out before or after a Sculptra treatment and it would be okay to be treated with controlled hypothyroidism.
There are some general risks with application of any type of filler or collagen stimulants but no more likely in patients with history of thyroid issues and no contraindications to work out the day before.
Thank you for your questions. Yes, Sculptra is FDA approved and is safe for use or it would not be on the market. Nodules from Sculptra injection are possible but not common. Discuss your activity before and after injections with your injector as each person has different protocol regarding this.Best of luck!Dallas R. Sculptra is a Poly-L-Lactic acid filler that stimulates collagen growth in the areas injected. Sculptra is a safe filler when injected by a physician with experience using this product. Sculptra is safe to be injected in a patient with controlled hypothyroidism. It is fine to workout before injections with Sculptra. If you’re worried about bruising, you can avoid working out for 24 hours after injections.
Sculptra is safe and effective in experienced hands as long as appropriate dilutions and reconstitution timing are used. You can workout prior to your treatment. There is no issue with having Sculptra with a history of hypothyroidism. See someone experienced with Sculptra and have this discussion with them prior to treatment.
Though I have heard about ? Sculptra nodules, I have never seen . I say this because the mechanism of action of Sculptra is to stimulate self tissue to grow, it is NOT a filler like Juverderm/Restylane? Radiesse. So for a nodule to occur seems truly unlikely vs I have seen many filler nodules. Maybe best not to exercise.

Stretch marks can't officially be ""cured,"" and it will take a combination approach and consistent treatment to see great results. However, there are a multitude of treatments currently available that can be utilized. I recommend a combination of microneedling/PRP, lasers (Erbium, Fraxel, Excel...
Because Sculptra stimulates your own body to produce collagen, this process takes time. Immediately after Sculptra is injected you will get a glimpse of the goal of the injections. Within 24-48 hours the water mixed with the product absorbs, and you will go back to the way you looked before the...
I appreciate your question. As long as your Sculptra was administered by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist, you can travel one day after your treatment. Sculptra is injected deeply in the temples into the dermal structure so it can trigger more collagen production and improve skin at...
Sculptra is a collagen stimulating filler that is a good option for temple volume loss. I also use Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne for temples. I find that most fillers tend to last longer in the temples then other parts of the face. Sculptra is a safe and effective treatment.
Poli lactic acid is a different substance than hyaluronic acid. There’s still chances of granuloma with Sculptra with the wrong dilution or technique. But not affects hypertrophic scarring. So go for it and good luck. Dr Luis Salazar Aesthetic Solutions
