Washing hair by bending over down in the sink

Question

I'm 6 days post op (silicone, high profile, 415cc) and wanted to know if it is safe to wash my hair by bending over and slightly leaning forward under the faucet of the sink? The swelling is very minimal and my incisions were done in areola area, I still feel pulling and tightness but I can easily tolerate it for 20 mins of the process. My only concern is whether it is safe

Dear AnastasiaUsually at 6 days postop, washing your hair in any position that is comfortable to you should be fine. most incisions at this point are closed. Although you should check with your surgeon, in my practice, patients can shower after post op day 3 in most cases.

Some of my patients have found it to be more comfortable if they lean backwards and have someone wash their hair in a sink.  My partners and I allow our patients to shower within a few days after implant surgery but it is very important to follow your surgeon's instructions very carefully. Have a safe recovery.

Thank you for your question. I usually recommend sitting in a chair and leaning your head backward and have somene else wash your hair. You could also go to a salon. The other option is a shower if your surgeon has cleared you for shower. Always check with your suirgeon first.
