Burning and swelling at night after Laser lipo 1 month ago.

Question

I had my laser lipo 1 month ago on my upper and lower belly and flanks and I've been wearing compression but I still have a lot of burning on these areas. Every night I swell and feel the fluid lumps more and burning gets worse. Per doctor's suggestion, I've been doing deep tissue massage and exercise but I don't really feel any improvement. Do you know why this happens and what else I can do to alleviate it

Thanks for the question, sometimes its the nerves waking up that create uncomfortable sensation. I like massage and some gabapentin or nerve settling medication for a few days to help with this

You may have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. This is pretty normal for where you are at in your recovery. I'm sorry that it's not a fun part of the process. The burning and tingling are normal and likely indicate that you had some mild nerve damage or disruption during your treatment that is now healing itself. This is very normal for liposuction.Lymphatic massage and sonicator massage should help with the inflammation. It sounds like you're doing everything you've been asked to by your doctor, though, and so my best advice would just be to be patient, trust the process, and try to hang in there.

After surgery,nerve regeneration pain is common when the nerves begin to “wake up”. This should subside after a few months. Good luck!
