It is difficult to do laser liposuction in the abdomen if a lap band port is present. You would have to stay away from that area, and this would result in an uneven appearance.
I have performed laser and ultrasound liposuction on many patients with lap band ports in place. Care around the port and tubing will avoid damage- there may be some minor fat left around it to protect it and in very thin patients, there is a possibility the port may be more visible. An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures is recommended to confirm you are a candidate as well as discuss your options and expectations.
While technically you can have laser liposuction done with a lap band in place, I would be very cautious about who's doing the procedure. Damage to the port or tubing virtually guarantees you another operation, which would likely involve general anesthesia if they have to replace either one. The other issue is how obvious the lap band port is going to become if you remove a lot of subcutaneous fat around it. You probably won't be a big fan of how that bulge looks under the skin.
