So also metal IUD's a problem and what will happen if you do? Why NO alcohol or caffeine before a treatment? what will happen?
Answer: Pregnancy & Laser Lipo Non-invasive laser lipo is a non-surgical technique but this doesn’t mean it’s safe for pregnant or breast-feeding women. Although the laser beams might be pointing away from the uterus (like on the arms), the procedure can still harm the fetus and thus it is unsafe for pregnant women. Breastfeeding women are also not suitable candidates for laser lipo because the lasers can influence the quality of the milk.

Answer: Baby Liposuction Liposuction is not performed during pregnancy for obvious reasons. Alcohol and other medications that cause dehydration should be avoided prior to Liposuction because there is an increased risk for low blood pressure after the procedure and potential for other drug- drug interactions.

Answer: Scary Stuff Typically, in cosmetic medicine, we refrain from treating women who are pregnant or breastfeeding for a few reasons:No studies have been done as to the safety for baby - and it's simply not worth the riskMom's body is changing a lot during these times - so not only may the problem the patient presents with resolve on it's own (like post-pregnancy weight), but any result we do achieve can quickly disappear, tooIn regards to IUD, the only treatment I'm aware of that a metal IUD is contraindicated for (that is FDA-Approved to reduce fat cells) is EmSculpt. The issue here being that electromagnetic waves could be absorbed by that IUD, causing some very painful and possibly very bad complications. Other IUDs are not an issue, just the Paraguard (metal) ones.It concerns me a bit that you're mentioning that you were instructed no caffeine or alcohol prior to treatment, because this is not something in the literature for EmSculpt, and that makes me question whether you're considering having one of the "lipo laser" pseudo-treatments that are not FDA-Approved for safety or efficacy that I am seeing advertised by a lot of spas, salons, and other inadequately trained professionals. Please only see a licensed and trained physician for any sort of fat reduction treatment. This recommendation is made purely for your safety.PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE: non-invasive laser lipo is not a thing - this is a marketing term being used erroneously. There is some other name for this treatment, a brand name. Ask to see the FDA-Approval for any treatment you are considering.

Answer: Laser liposuction/Smartlipo is invasive Sculpsure is non-invasive which means there are NO incisions. Smartlipo uses very small incisions ie 3-4 mm only per incision. if you are pregnant or breast feeding, you should not do Smartlipo since there is local anesthetic injected. A metal IUD is NOT a problem. I think it is fine to have coffee the day of the procedure. A glass (not a bottle) of wine, the night before the Smartlipo is also fine for my patients.david berman md

Answer: Liposuction candidate Excellent questions!!!An ideal patient is healthy, not actively pregnant, and has stable medical conditions.Medicine that is given during the procedure can make you sleepy, and helps with pain control. The medicine gets out of your body with in a couple of days, and that is why you don’t want to breast feed for a couple days after surgery. To prepare you don’t want to take any meds that thin the blood and cause bruising for a full week before. Alcohol and caffeine thin the blood, but not as much as aspirin and ibuprofen.Choose an expert. Best. Dr Brecht Seattle, Wa
