There may be an increased risk if your diabetes is poorly controlled or your are insulin dependent. However, as long as you are keeping your diabetes under control with medication and your overall health is in a good condition, you can safely undergo a laser liposuction procedure.
Thank you for your question. There is minimal risk for diabetics undergoing laser liposuction. Consult with your doctor, but I don't think you should have any problems with this procedure.
If you're diabetes is under control, you should be able to have laser liposuction. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get good results with laser liposuction. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. As long as you are healthy and your diabetes is well-controlled you can have laser lipo. For all of my patients, I require labs prior to liposuction. This has helped me catch a lot of underlying issues and health concerns over the years. I encourage you to find a physician you feel has your best health and wellness as their primary concern. Especially with diabetes, a physician who didn't take the time to carefully review your medical history and ask for recent labs would raise a red flag for me.
Thanks for your question and as always, we recommend that you have a consultation with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. If you are medically stable, there should be no concerns here. Your surgeon can consult with your PCP and make sure that everything remains stable pre and post the liposuction procedure.
Diabetes increases many risks. That being said some diabetics have excellent control and very little added risk while some are poorly controlled and would do worse. Best to check with your endocrinologist, get bloodwork done, and go from there first! Good luck!
As long as your DM and general health is stable you are a good candidate for Liposuction. In fact some of my diabetic patients have had improvement in their HBA1C after Liposuction, especially after I do there Tummy Tuck!Choose and expert. Best. Dr Brecht Seattle, Wa
Since you do not have to fast for Smartlipo if it is being done under local with oral sedation (which is how i have done over 800 cases) it is much easier than doing procedures under general anesthesia or IV sedation. i have done diabetics with no problems as long as their blood sugars are controlled.david berman md
Laser lipo can cause a lot of irritation resulting in swelling and induration which is a localisation of white blood cells, engorged vessels and localized swelling. This can persist for many months. After one year if you still have some irregularities, the areas might need a slight touch up.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately you have developed fibrotic tissue resulting in an uneven en surface. However, your abdomen , I would imagine is flatter now than before the surgery and you have an hourglass figure. In order to get closer to perfect results, I would suggest that you...
