Can anyone identify this plastic piece that appeared in my drainage bulb? (photo)

This looks like a piece of the JP bulb where the flip top connects.  Somehow it must have broken and fallen into the bulb itself.  It should be fine.  I am surprised that the bulb still maintains suction.  Would like to see that the top of the bulb itself.  Anyhow you will be fine.  Hope this helpsDr VasishtSouth Shore Plastic Surgery

That may be the internal valve.  Whats most important is that your drain keeps suction and continues to work.  The internal valve prevents fluid from going back into the tube when the bulb is compressed.  When you empty out the drain you may notice the fluid wanting to go back into the tube.  If this occurs it may support the internal valve issue and you will have to then pinch the tube when the drain is emptied.  Your plastic surgeon will be better at determining this as they know the type of drain used.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
