When it is ok to blow you nose after a nose job?

  Dear findinghappy, Depending on the specifics of the rhinoplasty, we instruct our patients that they may blow their noses 1-2 weeks after surgery. I would have your surgeon examine they bump on your nose. Good luck. Dr. Gervais.

I usually allow patients to blow their nose about 3 weeks post surgery.    During the initial  post-op period I only allow patients to gently clean their nose with a moist q-tip after showering.

We advise our patients to avoid blowing their nose for a week after surgery.  The small bump on the bridge of your nose is probably not related to nose blowing.  I recommend following up with your surgeon regarding the new nasal bump.

Dear Findinghappy,We recommend our septorhinoplasty patients to hold until at least 7 days post-op before gently blowing their nose. I would follow-up with your surgeon about the newly discovered dorsal hump.  

While most surgeons don't want their patients to blow their nose for a week or 2 (some longer), it's unlikely that the bump is a result of blowing your nose.  I'm sure you have another appointment with your surgeon and as further swelling goes away, the situation should become more clear.
