Masseter botox is a great place to start -- this can be a very strong muscle and require larger amounts of neuromodulator. Without knowing how many units as well as before / after photos from previous session, I am not able to confidently recommend attempting again. However, it may be as simple of a solution as increasing the amount of units. Facial balancing with filler or other products like sculptra can also help minimize appearance of jawline. Going in for a consultation with an advanced injector would be crucial prior to formulating treatment plan.
Hello, and thank you for your question. Masseter Botox is a good option if you grind your teeth or clench your jaw, as this will help shrink the muscle, which can give a more contoured appearance to the cheeks and lower face. To additionally help tighten the jawline, lower face neurotoxin can help, especially treating specific muscles such as the DAO and platysmal bands. If hesitant about lower face neurotoxin, dermal filler can be placed in specific areas to help accentuate jawline structure. There are an array of treatment modalities, so I would suggest consulting with a practitioner who specializes in facial aesthetics for appropriate recommendations.
For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello cofffeecake1! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. Generally, it takes about 6-8 weeks to see the slimming effect of the masseter muscle after receiving the treatment. Afterwards, you may need an additional 1-2 treatments depending on the muscle. I hope this helps!
Dermal fillers may be used strategically to add volume and definition to the jawline, making it appear less round. Facial liposuction can also be another option. It would reduce the fullness, enhancing the jawline’s appearance.Best of luck !
Botox to the masseter muscles can help to slim the jawline. You can also consider FaceTite which uses RF technology to tighten skin and melt fat. Another option is Morpheus8. You can learn more about these treatments by visiting my website or a provider near you.
There are several options for contouring the jawline that could work well in combination with your current masseter Botox—especially PDO threads and dermal fillers. One particularly effective filler for treating the jawline is Juvéderm Voluma XC. With a thicker, stiffer consistency, it provides the structural support needed to effectively contour the jawline. When expertly administered to add volume and definition around the chin and jawline, the results can be remarkable, not to mention long-lasting. Many patients see results for up to two years with this robust formula.
Thank you for your question! You have a beautiful lower face!Botox for masseter is a good choice, and possibly not enough of toxin was injected to get the slimming effect. However, reducing masseter may cause more “jowls”, be aware!I would recommend to use - Botox: along the jaw line, superficial and address platysmal bands. We call it “Nefertiti neck”, and it will give you a better definition of jawline and cheeks will be lifted a tet.-RF microneedling( Secret Pro) with seminsulated needles for deeper delivery of heat to reduce the fullness of jawline and jowls. It may require a few sessions ( at least 3, spaced out 4-6 weeks), evaluate the progress.- I use Kybella (or deoxycholic acid), it dissolves the fat cells,( white fat better than brown fat, and sometimes may cause uneven smile if close to nerve branches, but recovers in a couple of week). Proceed cautiously, know your provider has experience with it!- Dermal fillers to elongate the jawline and the chin, and elevate the cheeks: all might help to improve the jawline.I would use all tools I have, not just stick with one.All the best!Dr.Liliya
When Botox is reconstituted, we normally do this with sterile saline. If I understand your narrative correctly, you had a reaction to a saline injection just like you did with the other toxins. If that is correct, you may be sensitive to the preservative that may be in the saltwater. If that's...
Hi, thank you for your question! Botox can be used to treat these lines directly. Botox can be focused more to the bridge of the nose to help with the horizontal lines. This area is safe for botox to be injected.
Hello 94mlb! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. Botox for the masseter muscle is a great way to even out the jaw line by targeting the masseter muscle. Additionally, the slimming effect takes about 4-6 weeks to visibly notice....
