Hi there, I have undergone buccal fat removal, chin lipo and cheek filler but still have a long rectangle face. I have a very weak chin but yet my face looks boxy, when I went for a consultation for masseater Botox they said they couldn't feel the muscle. I feel stuck or should I get a second opinion? Thank you
Answer: Facial harmony This is a great question. Based on the picture, you may be a candidate for a little more cheek filler or bio-stimulators (sculptra or radiesse) to your midface and cheeks to widen your mid-face a little more. I am not sure how much cheek filler you had injected or how long ago, but based on your facial profile, a little more volume in your mid-face would help the overall appearance and widen and open up your face. Your hair is covering the temple areas on both sides, but you may also be a candidate for filler or biostimulators there also. This will help accentuate your facial harmony and achieve the desired heart shape. I hope this helps!

Answer: Face shape If your provider did not feel that you have large masseter muscles then Botox will not help as the treatment shrinks the appearance of the muscle. You can't shrink what isn't there. You may need to consider surgical interventions if the face contour is more primarily related to the nature of the jawbone.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: I would recommend removing every bit of your facial filler. Filler over time drifts south in our faces over time. It persists possibly forever. Over time, as the filler ages, it hold more water making our faces look boxy. Removing this material and adding back a little under the eye will make you look so much more youthful.

Answer: Not the muscle If you have limited muscle to feel along the masseter, then botulinum there is not likely to satisfactorily change the shape of your face. You have a large mandible (jaw bone). I address that regularly with a 1 hour procedure that reshapes the bone to a more narrow shape. It's sometimes called v-line surgery. Watch our videos to learn more.
