Asymmetry 6 month post op - difference in shape is very noticeable - do I need a revision? (Photos)

Hey! I’ve had a breast augmentation with a lift 6 months ago (275cc round profile). Ive recently noticed that apart from asymmetry one of the breasts is very firm and feels almost flat on the bottom. Not to mention that the visible difference in shape is very noticeable. Do I need a revision surgery ?

The diameter of where the two breasts sit on the chest wall is different, and their volume is also different. Therefore, yes, you need revision surgery. We generally need to wait 6 months for these types of surgeries, and your appropriate waiting period has been completed. If necessary, the volume can be equalized by selecting different implants, and the area where they sit on the chest wall can be changed by performing another breast lift surgery.

Your photos show that your breasts were asymmetric prior to surgery and this has been improved with the surgery. Breasts are essentially never perfectly symmetric after surgery and overall, it appears you have had a good aesthetic outcome. The firmness is potentially more of an issue. This may be a sign of a capsular contracture. A follow up visit to your surgeon would be appropriate to evaluate this.

All breasts are different left to right before and after any surgery. They can be made more symmetrical, but unfortunately will never be 100% identical, and they also heal differently.

If there has been a change in implant firmness and shape on the lower pole, you should be evaluated by your plastic surgeon for slight capsule and/or implant malposition and continued asymmetry in breast shape, volume, etc.

You have a nice result, but if these issues are troublesome, then a revision may be an option to discuss further.
