What are my treatment/surgery options for a deep labiomental fold and horizontal chin? (Photos)

My chin has always bothered me as I have a deep labiomental crease and it projects horizontally; creating the appearance of a short face. Would I be a good candidate for surgery to fill the crease as well as lengthen the chin a bit vertically? What are my options surgery wise or would fillers be the best solution?

Without the benefit of a full set of photos, it appears that your chin is short and slightly prominent. A slight set-back with simultaneous lengthening would probably improve your overall facial balance. Fillers would not be advised in your case.

Part if the reason you have a deep labiomental sulcus is that the chin is somewhat vertically short. As a result you are correct in that vertical chin lengthening with labiomental augmentation would be the corrective approach.

If you’re open to having surgery then you should have consultations with some talented oral surgeons in your area. You’ll find a wide range of competence and experience with oral surgeons.

Some focus more on pulling teeth while others do complex craniofacial  surgery.

The easiest would be to work with fillers both in regards to vertical augmentation and filling in The labiomental fold.

The answer depends in part on the bony contours/xray review. However, generally, one can increase the height of the chin (depending upon the balance with the midface) and either set it back a touch or augment the bone supporting the fold. Common issue
