8 months ago I had fallen and developed a huge bump on my right buttock. Draining did not resolve it. I had surgery to remove the bump in July. It's been about 7 weeks since surgery and I have developed a bump again and the contour seems to be ruined. Will the scar/the area where I was cut/ will that resolve in time and become smooth? Or will I need another surgery to cut out the bump? Could I get liposuction on the bump and/or fat transfer or will I have to get revision surgery first?
Answer: BBL candidate Thank you so much, based on your pictures you appear to be a good candidate for my special technique of posterior body contour, developed after having done thousand of butt reshaping surgeries through the years in this field. In this regard, the DBL is more advanced and sophisticated technique than the simple butt-fat-fill as the classic BBL is described.

Answer: Buttock deep scar It is very likely that you developed deep scar after injury as well as after surgery. It takes good year, possibly longer in your age, for scar to mature, soften and settle. Only at that time you should be reevaluated and contour deformity, if still present, should be addressed with fat grafting. Good luck.

Answer: Dent Dear volinna, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Scar Tissue on Butt Hi volinna, After an injury or surgery scar tissue always forms. The severity of injury and the way your body heals will determine the final outcome. You do appear to have scar tissue under the area of concern. It will take several months for your body to continue to heal after your recent surgery. Nothing can be said with 100% certainty, but it is likely the damage sustained will likely remain that way. Once you have completely healed your options for improvement include scar release alone or scar release with fat transfer. Scar release alone may cause additional scarring to form and you would likely end up in the same predicament. By placing fat in the released area you are helping to bolster the skin in hopes that a more rounded shape forms. Filler would not be recommended as the results would be temporary. I recommend a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for an in depth assessment and surgical plan. Dr. Andre P. MarshallDouble Board Certified Plastic SurgeonBeverly Hills, CA 90210

Answer: Bump after BBL When you had surgery to remove the bump, what did they find? We really don’t have enough information to give you an answer on this one. Your best of following up with your provider. Creating volume by using fat grafting in very small areas tends to not work as well as grafting larger areas like the entire buttocks. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
