Switching from daily generic 1mg finasteride to 1.25mg brand name proscar - shedding/hair loss from this?

In my opinion there should be no difference between generic and brand-name finasteride.  You need to be evaluated by a hair loss specialist. The symptoms in your scalp  could be inflammation. Inflammation can cause hair loss . Furthermore, you may have developed a telogen hair loss due to other causes.  You need a full work-up including history  examination  and possibly biopsy. There is no difference in content between generic and brand name medications.  The formulas are the same.  If you are experiencing more hair loss you should do a follow up with your hair specialist doctor.
