13 days post lipo of flanks, abdomen and back... all areas are hard as a rock. What's going on?

Thank you for your question. You are still very early in the post - operative recovery period. Swelling will slowly subside over the next three - six months. You may wear a compression garment over the next several months if you feel it helps. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.

Frequently early internal scarring after liposuction can be quite hard. Do not worry. Visit your plastic surgeon and follow there recommendations. Once you are not too tender, you can try deep tissue massage to break up some of the car tissue, but even if you don't it will get softer over time. Good luck!

I would not be too worried at this point in your recovery. I see more of this degree of swelling with laser liposuction than compared with tumescent  liposuction. It can take months before swelling and firmness resolve.  Still, I hope that you have discussed this with your surgeon and have been to at least one to two  post op visits to be evaluated by this point.  I am a firm believer in lymphatic massage, which can milk the excessive  fluid retention away from the surgical site. Use a  compression garment, but do not make it a vice.  Also watch your salt intake and  keep active.Prashant Soni ,M.D.

This feeling can be pretty typical. In my patients I recommend wearing your compression garment and doing massage on the areas you had treated. Over time this should resolve but if you have questions don't hesitate to contact your surgeon's office. Best of luck.

What you are describing sounds fairly common following liposuction.  There is alot of internal healing going on, which often feels thickened.  Some gentle massage will help

information as well.. This is the surgical
procedure that revolutionized cosmetic surgery becoming one of the most
performed cosmetic procedures. Subcutaneous tissue or fat is removed in order

body 3 times a day. To prevent bad circulation and swollen legs, use
compression socks. Brazilian butt lift can be performed with the same procedure
and for a month it will be swollen and it will drop a little bit without losing
it’s shape if you use your garment.. If you’re going to perform liposuction on
your inner, outer, anterior, lateral, postetior thighs, be careful and consult
with your surgeon what’s best for you, sometimes we have more extra skin than
fat, that can cause severe sagginess on our legs, which can be only be reversed
performing a thigh lift.
