Can the clear and brillant laser damage vision? The goggles slipped and my eyes were open during the treating of the temples.

Question

I was doing clear and brillant laser and guess wasn't thinking the goggles would slip off so I wasn't concentrating on keeping eyes closed. When she told me to turn so she could treat temples I did and the goggles slipped of with my eye open and that bright red felt pretty intense. She assured me it would have to actually touch my eye to do damage and what I'm feeling in that area is from the numbing cream. She said she doesn't even wear goggles to administer treatment,I'm nervous about vision?

The red light you saw was the guide light for the Clear and Brilliant, not the actual laser. As a safety feature, the Clear and Brilliant laser will only work if the hand piece is in contact with the skin and moving with continued skin contact. The laser would have to be placed directly over the eye to potentially create an issue. With that being said, I would recommend an evaluation with an opthalmologist if you are concerned or experiencing any problems.
