Hello, I am currently looking into the breast reduction surgery to solve my issue. I am 18 years old, 5'3", and I weigh 106 lbs. Having lost a significant amount of weight, my breasts have deflated. The skin on my breasts folds in on itself to the point where even the nipple folds in. And there are wrinkles when I go without a bra. I have become very uncomfortable with my breasts because they are giving me back and neck pains. Would you recommend breast reduction for me? Thank you!
Answer: Breast options after weight loss; use of GalaFORM might be helpful Thanks for your question. Congrats on your weight loss. Your deflation is very common and is normally treated with a combination of a lift and implant placement. Given your height/weight, it is unlikely that you have enough breast tissue to reshape the breast w/o an implant. Also the loss of elasticity in the breast envelope can make it difficult to support the implant and lift; in which case we use a mesh support like GalaFORM sometimes. Find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area that is an ASAPS member and specializes in aesthetic breast surgery. Best of Luck!

Answer: You Have Several Breast Surgery Options Thank you for your question. Based on the details you’ve provided, you could benefit from a breast lift and augmentation, which could alleviate some of the stress on your back and neck as well as correct the deflated look you’ve described. A breast reduction may be another option, but it’s difficult to say without seeing photographs. The best way to figure out which type of breast surgery can help you reach your ideal look and make sure you feel comfortable is to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. Best of luck! Dr. Michael Chiaramonte, ASPS board-certified plastic surgeon

Answer: I lost weight and now my breasts have deflated and has become wrinkly, what are my options? Breasts that are saggy and deflated can certainly be lifted to improve the appearance. If you would like the size to be increased, an implant can be placed at the same time. Find a board certified plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials (American Board of Plastic Surgery certification, education, experience, training) who performs hundreds of breast lifts each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries and read patient reviews.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: What to do with wrinkly breasts after weight loss First, congrats on your weight loss. Unfortunately, without pictures it is hard to make give you accurate input. However, in general, if your breasts are deflated and really sagging then you may need implants + a breast lift (mastopexy). See a qualified plastic surgeon in person to learn all of your options. See my link below to learn more about combination breast augmentation + mastopexy. Best of luck to you.

Answer: The Bellesoma Method Thank you for you question, The Bellesoma Method is a current technique to lift and/or reduce breasts without using implants or the ugly vertical scars. The incisions are hidden around the areola and in the inframammary crease. The vertical incision has been completely eliminated. The areola incision heals almost invisibly due to the fact that there is hardly any tension on the closure. With this particular technique, ducts are preserved along with nerve supply maintaining nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed. Because the breast is reshaped internally and is secured to your chest muscles, upper pole fullness is possible without an implant. Attached is a patient who underwent The Bellesoma Method. Please note that her tissue was used to create upper pole fullness and cleavage without any foreign materials (mesh, implants, etc). Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance for breast reductions. Dr. Horndeski does not remove enough breast tissue to meet insurance criteria. Instead, he utilizes the breast tissue to reshape the breast. It is a proprietary technique that only surgeons that have been trained by me can perform. I hope this helps. Best wishes and kind regards, Dr. Gary Horndeski
