Hello. Great question. Weight loss is not significant after a tummy tuck procedure. If any weight loss occurs, it will vary from patient to patient. Please schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to achieve your desired results.
Hi, thank you for your question. You would be an excellent candidate for tummy tuck with liposuction to contour the hour-glass shape. Try not to think of these procedures as means to achieve weight loss. Your final weight after cosmetic surgery is dependent on a number of factors including the amount of total body water. What is important is that you achieve a beautiful result safely. You should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss all of your concerns and come up with the best plan to reach your aesthetic goal. Best of luck!
That is a very good question that we frequently hear when talking to patients considering a tummy tuck. Most patients will lose in the 3 to 7 pound range after a tummy tuck and liposuction. However some patients may lose 8 to 12 pounds if they have had a massive weight loss after bariatric surgery or lifestyle change. Based on your photos I would expect you to be in the 3-4 pound range. However, don’t be surprised or discouraged when you initially look at the scales after surgery because it may go up for a few weeks due to swelling. Best of luck on your journey. Although your results would be fantastic after a tummy tuck and lipo, you will not find you will lose a lot of weight. Skin and fat do not have a lot of weight to them. They occupy space, volume, not weight. So you will look like you lost weight after, but not typically notice a lot on the scale!
You appear to be a great candidate for a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck is not meant as a weight reduction procedure but for body sculpting. The amount of actual weight loss is not that much, it is best to get as close to your goal weight as possible before surgery. Be sure to choose a board certified plastic surgeon and look at many before and after pictures. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, degree of skin laxity, and history of 3 children, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck with liposuction. This can be done through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line. The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars on the exterior. Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen. I don't like to make predictions about weight loss after this surgery, as this can be influenced by a number of factors. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Tummy tuck and liposuction are not designed for weight loss and you may lose less than you think. They are designed though to help improve your contours and give you a flatter, tighter tummy. From the photos you appear to be a great candidate and should have a very nice result. As for weight loss you can anticipate around three to five pounds once swelling has resolved.
You really won't lose very much weight at all. In fact if you weigh yourself the day of your surgery and then three days later you will find that you actually weigh more! Then it will take several weeks to get back to your pre-operative weight as the swelling goes down but overall your scale won't change very much. Patients are always surprised by this but the fat and the skin don't weight very much--but while your scale may not notice the change but your pants will as you will get a smaller waist from the excess skin removal, muscle tightening and the liposuction. You want to make sure that your surgeon is going to be aggressive with the liposuction because this is really where you will get the change in shape from. Thank you for your question. Based on the picture you look like a good candidate for TT.mTT and Lipo are not a weight loss operations. TT will remove excess skin and tighten the muscles. usually removed skin oil your case may not weigh much. Please consult with a board certified PS for evaluation.
Tummy tuck and liposuction surgery does not produce a significant loss. I tell my patients that they should expect more of a contour change than a weight loss result. My best guess from your photos would be 2-3 lbs.Hope this helps.Dr. Ali Mosharrafa
From the photos you appear to be a good candidate for a tummy tuck. An extended tuck without the inverted T incision will give you a significant improvement. The trade off is that you may still have a little looseness of skin above the belly button. I encourage you to visit with a few board...
This is a great question. Swelling (edema) after any injury (surgery included) results when the lymphatics draining the area are overwhelmed and water backs up into the tissues. Areas of healing are metabolically very active and require increased blood supply and leak more fluid, thus the...
Wound healing can be frustrating as it moves slowly and sometimes gets worse before it gets better. Continue to follow your surgeon's advice and keep her/him apprised of how you are doing. If needed you can visit a wound care specialist for further care.
Congratulations on your weight loss! When you have completed your weight loss journey and are at a stable weight you will likely benefit from the fleur de lis incision pattern. This will remove the most excess skin and give you the best overall contour. I've included a video I hope you find...
You should contact your surgeon right away to discuss your situation. It's best to be healthy and free from infection before continuing with surgery. It may be advisable to postpone.
Hello. Great question. However, a personal examination is needed to determine if you absolutely need a vertical incision. Please schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed surgical plan to achieve your desired results.
