6 weeks post BBL and lipo: is it normal to still have tons of stinging pain in the butt and hips?

I am 6 weeks post-op BBL and full tummy lipo. Burning stinging pain everyday and night and hard burning lump on my right hip. Notified my doctor and they keep saying all is normal. I didn’t expect to feel this much pain still 6 weeks post op. Nothing is hot or warm to touch and no fever.

Burning stinging pain 6 weeks months after liposuction may not be normal, but this is not unexpected.  I think your doctor is being honest, and the pain will subside. There are numerous variables (the surgery itself, your sensitivity to pain, etc.) which could be contributing to the burning sensation you are experiencing.  Many BBL and lipo patients experience intermittently the same sensation you describe. With the limited amount of information provided, I am unable to provide a specific reason for your pain.If this type of pain is affecting your quality of life, there are medications that can help with neuropathic pain.

Different recovery protocols are present for different patients. On average 6 weeks after surgery can be common concern for stinging pain in certain areas that where operated on. Meaning your recovery and final result depends on the amount of fat removed from liposuction, the areas liposuctioned, and the amount of fat transferred to your buttock.

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation and discomfort are normal.
If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Yes, it can be "normal" to experience a stinging burning pain in the areas of liposuction for 6 months or longer after a BBL. Many patients report it improves over time. Definitely see your PS as this can also be symptoms of an infection or fat necrosis.
