Brazilian Butt Lift recovery time is dependent on how the patient’s body reacts to the procedure. Patients usually return to work after a week but you should not sit without the use of cushions for at least two weeks and you must wear a compression garment for several weeks after the procedure. You should wait until at least 2 weeks after the procedure to engage in sexual activity. Swelling and discomfort normally fades at six weeks. After about a month you will be mostly healed and you can get a nice idea of the permanent results after around six months.
Thanks for your question.I recommend my patient wait 4 to 6 weeks before they start to wear jeans. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.Take care,Moises Salama M.D., Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist.Every surgeon varies when it comes to post op instructions. Generally speaking, you are fully healed by 3 months and you can wear whatever clothing you would like. I always recommend following up with your surgeon for their instructions. I hope that helps! Thank you for your question! At this point, it is OK to wear jeans. For my patients, after they are six week post surgery, they have no clothing restrictions. I recommend discussing specific post surgical recommendations with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
Your plastic surgeon knows your postoperative course best and would be better able to advise you on this. I recommend that my patients not wear tight jeans for at least six weeks following BBL. Wearing tight jeans is probably not going to disrupt anything or create a dent, other than a temporary one at that point in recovery. Now that you are 3 months post-op, wearing jeans should be fine.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeryLos Angeles, CA
Dear Bodyloveme,I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.Every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question. Based on the information provided you should be ready to put on some jeans. It's best to follow your surgeons specific advice post-operatively. Make sure to follow up with him regarding your post-op plan.
Post-operative compression by a garment like jeans may hinder or disrupt your final result. If a garment or even clothes do not fit correctly, unevenly distributes pressure, or is too tight... it may affect and hinder ones overall result. It is always best to review and make sure your clothing options or garments are adequate by reaching out to your surgeon in order to maximize your result.
If the jeans have a tight waist band it is best to avoid wearing them for long periods of time until you are healed as this can leave a permanent indentation. I recommend no jeans for the 1st 6 weeks after surgery, then limited wear (short periods of time) until they are 3 months out from surgery.
