Could I achieve good results without a FDL? (Photo)

nume2me
I had multiple consults with different plastic surgeons before choosing the one I ultimately went with. Some said I should do an ETT. Some said FDL. One said he would do either, it was up to me if I wanted the trade off of the vertical scar but it would pull me tighter. The surgeon I chose said the fdl wasn’t necessary. That he gets good results without it. I have a large apron belly with significant droop over my belly button after a 100 lb weight loss. Now I am getting cold feet as people in tummy tuck forums are saying I will always have loose skin above my belly button. Does my surgeon possibly just have a lot of skill? Is it possible I will be flat?
