A tummy tuck reshapes the abdominal wall and tightens skin and muscles in the front of the body but it does not involve the pelvic floor or the nerves responsible for sexual sensation.

Contrary to concern about negative effects, some studies have actually shown that abdominoplasty, particularly when correcting diastasis recti (separated abdominal muscles), can lead to improvements in sexual function and satisfaction. Repairing the separated abdominal muscles improves core strength and stability. This physical improvement can translate into better control and comfort during sexual activity, potentially enhancing arousal and satisfaction. While the abdominal wall may feel different for a while, there is generally no clinical evidence to suggest that a tummy tuck negatively impacts the ability to orgasm or the quality of the sensation itself, especially since the genital area and the deep pelvic nerves are not involved.
