I'm 39yrs old with a very flat bottom Desperately want a bbl but at my consult the surgeon said a lot of the fat might not stick due to being on chronic steroids (over 10yrs on prednisone due to brain tumor) And also said something about there's not much muscle in my butt Don't want to spend 10-15k if my end result is still no butt

Answer: What determines BBL results? In order for fast transfer to be successful there needs to be a sufficient layer opposed to tissue to support the grafted fat. If your subcutaneous fat layer is inherently thin than the amount of fat that will be successfully grafted may be very limited. Without seeing pictures, we can’t begin to make an assessment. Long-term use of prednisone can have detrimental side effects. Plastic surgery outcomes are generally based on patient candidacy combine with the skill of the provider. A patient who is an excellent candidate for a surgical procedure has the potential of having an excellent outcome if the procedure is done correctly. Patients who are not good candidates do not have the potential for having high-quality outcomes and this needs to be considered when making a decision of having surgery or not. Without seeing pictures, we can’t begin to make an assessment. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
