Inner thigh lift swelling 14 months post op?

Question

I'm almost 14 months post op from inner thigh lift surgery. Surgery went well & the surgeon did a great job. Swelling is still an issue. The swelling is from the tops of the ankles & down into the feet. It's decreased since surgery, but persistent. The worst part seems to be around my ankle bones & Achilles heel. By the end of the day when I press it leaves a mark. Pitting. Will this ever go away? I'm 55, exercise 5 times a week, at a good weight & my heart is in good condition.

Congratulations on your thigh lift, TingFiona!
It’s hard to tell without photos, but swelling after a thigh lift normally subsides within a year. 
If it’s still swollen as per your description, it’s time to consult a reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon to know what’s really going on. 
In the meantime, you can decrease swelling by wearing compression garments, lifting your legs on the wall above your head from time to time, and decreasing your sodium intake.

Thanks for posting your question!Swelling of the ankles on both sides after a day on your feet is an indication that you may be retaining fluid or may have venous return problems in your legs. It's hard to say if this is related to your thigh lift operation. It would be reasonable to start by speaking with your plastic surgeon and having them help guide you in whether or not you should be evaluated by your primary care physician or vein specialist. In the meanwhile, using some knee high compression stockings to help minimize your swelling may improve things for you. Good luck !
