Am I a good candidate for non-incisional Asian eyelid surgery? (Photos)

Thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, your eyelids appear to have some excess skin which can create the multiple folds on your eyelids. The temporary crease that sometimes forms is likely related to the excess skin that can fold over, creating a "double eyelid" formation. An Upper Blepharoplasty surgery would help create a secure, more clearly defined double eyelid crease. There are two main methods to accomplish a double eyelid crease: Non-incision Suture Technique and Full Incision Method. The Non-incision Suture Technique Upper Blepharoplasty can typically be performed if you do not have much excess skin or fat and prefer smaller, more natural appearing double eyelids. If there is too much skin or excess fat, then a Full Incision Upper Blepharoplasty would likely be indicated. I recommend that you have your eyelids formally evaluated by a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon or Plastic Surgeon who is experienced in performing Asian Upper Blepharoplasty to determine which method would be best for you.

You very well may be an excellent candidate for non-incisional double eyelid surgery. This is a technique mastered by Korean eyelid surgeons, which I learned during my training in Seoul. However, photos are not enough to decide if you are a good candidate. We have to be able to examine you in person to feel if your eyelids have excessive thickness/fat or what is termed "heavy burden" eyelid. If you do, then unfortunately, you would not be a good candidate because the excess fat will not allow good crease formation. In those cases, we need to use the incisional method.
