Red spots on tip of nose after revision (Photo)

Question

I had a revision 19 months ago where diced cartilage was used and a strut and spreader were placed. Recently, about 2 months ago, a red dot appeared on my tip. About 3 days ago another appeared. What could be causing this?

It is important that you see a different specialist such as a dermatologist, because this type of changes when associated with skin may belong to other types of pathologies not necessarily the previous surgery. In general, many people experience unwanted nasal redness after rhinoplasty, especially if there is underlying rosacea. Depending on your examination, these red spots may be cauterized with a "Hyfrecator", or with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments. Consider visiting a reputable dermatologist if your surgeon doesn't have options for you. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
