Is it safe to wear headphones after a FUT procedure.

Question

So basically I had a FUT procedure (2000 grafts) on the frontal area of my scalp. I'm a medical student so I need to watch videos for a long duration (roughly 4 hours a day or more) I have Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series I) Wireless Headphones, Noise Cancelling (QC 35 Series 1). Will this effect my hair growth? Should i switch over to the apple wired headphones? Also, at this point is it okay to comb my hair?

If you have to wear headphones post op please make sure it is not rubbing on the donor or recipient site for approximately four days. You might also consider a less bulky head phone immediately post op.

The headphones in the photo are somewhat large and bulky.  For the first week postop I would avoid them as it would be possible to inadvertently bump or rub the surgical site when putting them on.  I'd suggest ear buds the first week, then resume your regular headphones.  This would also be a good question for your surgeon who would know more details about your graft placement and harvest areas.

You can use head phones after hair transplant. However it is crucial that the head phone do not push or pull the transplanted hairs the first few days.

The use of headphones should not be a problem provided that it does not run against the wound from the surgery
