Is there a surgery to lift the nose tip as I think my drooping nose is making it hard to breathe? (Photos)

Question

It feels hard to breathe through my nose. When I pinch the skin on my bridge + lift, thus generally lifting up the nasal structures, it's easier to breathe. (I do not have a deviated septum or sinus infections or anything like that. Everything in my respiratory system is normal.) I have extremely thick nasal skin, so I'm not comfortable w. pursuing a trad rhinoplasty unless it would help specifically with this. Is there a surgery that just lifts the tip so I can be more comfortable? Thank you!

Only on the basis of detailed in person evaluation, one experienced, board certified plastic surgeon, expert in rhinoplasty, could find the reason for your airway obstruction and decide how to treat it. Additional procedures may be needed to improve external appearance of the nose if you decide to change it as well. Good luck.

Hello, thanks for your photos. Don't worry, you are not alone and there are lots of people who have difficulty breathing caused by the low tip of the nose. At their surgeries, we also see that they do not have crookedness in their nose. A successful functional tip plasty operation would solve all your problems. Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. If you are having breathing problems, a thorough internal examination of the nose is going to be required to make a determination about what is causing the breathing difficulty.  There are many issues on the inside of the nose that can cause nasal obstruction which include a deviated nasal septum, turbinate hypertrophy, valve collapse, allergies and chronic sinusitis.  A cosmetic closed rhinoplasty can accomplish shaving down the dorsal hump, narrowing the bridge line, and refining the nasal tip. If  Your nasal tip is drooping down dynamically when smiling, then it is important to release the depressor septi ligament.
