I’ve had 6 vials of Sculptra with no results. Bellafill has been after my injector to use their product so he thought of me. The rep came with a few syringes which were injected into my temples. One side remains full the other didn’t. We did a total of 5 more in my extremely hollow cheeks. We saw results immediately but they were gone the next day. I was told the results you get at the time of injection will remain until the PMMA kicks in. Any idea why the results are disappearing a day later.

Sculptra and Bellafill are both stimulating agents that normally require several treatment sessions spaced over time in order to produce gradual filling.  If the starting appearance has relatively severe hollowness, it could take 3-6 treatment sessions to obtain the desired results.  It also normally takes 4-8 weeks to see the results after a Sculptra or Bellafill injection.  The initial fullness seen immediately after treatment will always subside and then the stimulation will occur which will produce gradual filling.

If you are injecting the buccal area, this is known as the “black hole” and it takes a lot of filler without seeing results. This is because there is no “backstop” and the correction goes inward. My recommendations for this area is superficial Refyne injections in the dermis. Remember that results for collagen stimulating fillers requires your body to create collagen and if your immune system is poor, you have negative metabolic balance, or you take immunosuppressive drugs, you won’t create collagen. Also, it takes 3-4 months to see the majority of the results from Sculptra or Bellafill.

The results one gets from any filler injection are extremely injector dependent as well as location dependent.  For instance, Bellafill works best if it is injected superficially, just under the skin, and not into the deeper layer where many injectors are taught to inject other products like Sculptra and Juvederm.  In addition, areas of the face like the cheek hollows are like "black holes" for filler largely because there no bone close to the surface to push the filler up and produce results.  
The time to judge results from any filler injection, including Bellafill, is immediately after or three to four weeks later.  When results look good the next day, it means that the swelling from the trauma or injury of the injection have taken over.  When the swelling goes away and it looks like nothing happened, then either the filler was placed too deep or not enough was used to fully correct your problem.
