I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. It's not recommended to inject Bellafill to the lips. Technique is the key to a successful lip augmentation with fillers, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. An experienced physician will be able to determine which filler, how much filler, and which technique will give you the subtle result you're looking for. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Bellafill and Artefill are known to cause granulomas. Although used for soft tissue augmentation, they can, and are known to cause permanent nodules and swelling. This is not the case for everyone. My office specializes in the removal of Bellafill and Artefill injections, in addition to silicone biopolymers, from the face and body. Initially, treatments are non-surgical with corticosteroids and immune modulators. If unable to be corrected, we can also perform surgery in some cases. Lastly, our office is conducting ongoing studies of plasma-assisted corticosteroid application, which allows for diffusion of the treatment medication in superficial tissue without causing atrophy. Hi and thanks for your question. You really should not be putting Bellafill in your lips. Because the lips are a very mobile area, it is very common to get lumps and bumps after filler injections there, even with the most experienced injector. A Juvederm lump is easy to correct. A Bellafill lump is a disaster. There are long lasting hyaluronic acid fillers available, like Refyne, but many of my patients have results from even Juvederm that last considerably longer than 6 months. Bellafill is just not worth the risk. The most important variable in the success of you lip injection procedure is to find an experienced injector. Specialty does not matter, as there are fantastic injectors of all specialties and some of the nurses and NPs and PAs do excellent work. Hope that helps.
Dear teresatrevino,I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question. I do not recommend Bellafill injections in the lips. The lips are an area prone to lumps and bumps. With an HA filler such as Restylane or Juvederm this is not an issue as HA fillers can be easily dissolved with hyaluronidase. With Bellafill, should you develop a lump, this may need to be surgically excised leading to a lip deformity.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Safe to do on the day. In most cases we do the fillers before INFINI- reason is that 1. we get a more accurate picture before swelling 2. Infini or RF does NOT break down filler. With Bellafill it is advised to get a test intradermal injection skin test 4- 8 weeks prior to the filler correction...

I don't know when you were injected but the effects of Bellafill evolve over time. It takes about 3-4 months to fully appreciate the correction. If at that time there is still too much fullness, attempting to shrink the collagen response with 5FU and Steroids might help. If the filler (any...
