I am very happy with the immediate results, but as each day goes by, the swelling goes down, so does the volume that I saw the first day. I understand that my body will absorb the collagen and therefore lose volume, but will my body eventually replace the same amount of collagen that I once had after the injections? Is it safe to say that my replaced volume will be the same as the one I received in the initial injections, or only a small portion will get replaced? What can I expect?

Answer: Bellafill Volumization Hi and thanks for your question. You can expect that much of your initial volume will come back, but the percentage does vary from patient to patient. I generally tell patients that they may need a touch up treatment about 6 to 8 weeks after the initial treatment because the collagen is not replaced exactly 1:1 for most people. Hope that helps.

Answer: Bellafill results Thank you for your question. It is important to realize that every patient has an individual response to any intervention. Most patients will see results over the long term that approximate the volume of Bellafill initially injected. Bellafill has PMMA particles which stimulate your body to produce collagen. These PMMA particles are present permanently so that yields a very long lasting result. As we age, our body's production of new collagen diminishes with the aging process. Thus, an older patient may see less response than a younger patient. I have Bellafill in my left hand and no filler in the right. It has been 9 years and I don't see any diminishing of the result and there is a definite difference when compared to the right hand. Due to the long lasting nature of this filler it is important that you have a very experienced injector with Bellafill experience. I usually see patients back after 6-8 weeks to assess whether they need any additional Bellafill injections. Better to go slow than to over correct on the first set of injections.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
