Does alcohol reduce the volume of Bellafill?

I got my lips enhanced with BellaFill 2 years ago. I do not drink often, only once or twice a month. But when I drink, I go partying (drink a lot). So my result is amazing from the first day. However, I'm wondering if alcohol reduces the volume of BellaFill. Also my boyfriend got penile girth enhancement done with pmma (which he did in mexico) He is even more concerned about this question than me Haha. We do not smoke. Only go out one to twice a month for a party! #collagen

No, this is unlikely to negatively impact your Bellafill results. Bellafill becomes collagen very quickly and isn't "in your skin" after a short time period but stimulates your own collagen production. Best, Dr. Emer

I must first address the use of Bellafill in the lips and penis. These are areas that absolutely shouldn't be injected. Infection, nodularity are much higher risk in these areas. If a long standing correction is desired, I would choose fat in these areas. Alcohol does not affect the volume of Bellafill.

Thank you for your question. There are no current studies showing that alcohol reduces the body's production of collagen synthesis. In fact excessive consumption of alcohol can increase the body's production of type IV collagen which can lead to fibrosis of the liver. Since Bellafill is a biostimulator in which the PMMA particles stimulate collagen production, alcohol should have no significant effect on the results. As a physician, I recommend consumption of alcohol in moderation.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
