Bellafill and Artefill are known to cause granulomas. Although used for soft tissue augmentation, they can, and are known to cause permanent nodules and swelling. This is not the case for everyone. My office specializes in the removal of Bellafill and Artefill injections, in addition to silicone biopolymers, from the face and body. Initially, treatments are non-surgical with corticosteroids and immune modulators. If unable to be corrected, we can also perform surgery in some cases. Lastly, our office is conducting ongoing studies of plasma-assisted corticosteroid application, which allows for diffusion of the treatment medication in superficial tissue without causing atrophy. Hi and thank you for your question! We use Bellafill for filling under scars and it works great. By the same token, one might suggest that it can be used for cellulite dimples but given the fundamental differences in the structure of a depressed scar and cellulite, I do not recommend it until more studies are done. The skin manifestations of cellulite are resulted from a combination of excess fat and broken collagen and extra-cellular matrix that allows the fat to move out place and cause the dimples. Hence, to be effective against cellulite, a treatment should ideally reduce the fat, and stimulate collagen synthesis. While Bellafill can do accomplish the 2nd part, it does little to address the fat and hence, I do not expect it to work very well in this scenario. I hope it helps and good luck!
A combination approach would give the most improvement. Cellfina itself is the best treatment we have for cellulite but works best in combination with Sculptra, and body treatments like Venus Legacy/Exilis Ultra, Cellutone/Zwave. A VASER HI DEF procedure can be done for more contouring and smoothing, if you're a candidate. Cellulite can't be cured, but can be improved with treatments and maintenance. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear julietkakakish, you might consider Cellfina to reduce the cellulite. Patients are usually satisfied after the treatment (over 90 %). I would suggest you to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience with Cellfina.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Cellulite dimples can be filled with Bellafill or Sculptra combined with subcision. I use a cannula for the subcision. The problem with Bellafill is that it is an expensive product for this purpose. It should last for a very long time - and might be permanent, but it would take too much product to make it feasible. I use Sculptra for this purpose because it can fill larger areas at significantly lower cost. It should last 5-7 years.
Thank you for your question. Cellulite is complex and effects over 80% of women. Components of cellulite include fibrous tissue, fat, and fluid. The most definitive treatment for the fibrous component of cellulite is Cellfina which releases the fibrous bands pulling in the skin. In addition, skin and tissue tightening with RF devices is often helpful. Products like Sculptra and Bellafill which produce collagen can help improve the quality of the skin and help fill in depressions which cannot be released by Cellfina.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
This is all just theoretical but you might be able to speed up collagen by adding PRP to the injection area. Oral collagen supplements might add to the final results but that controversial. You have to make sure that you are in a positive metabolic state, have no medical debilitating issues,...
I must first address the use of Bellafill in the lips and penis. These are areas that absolutely shouldn't be injected. Infection, nodularity are much higher risk in these areas. If a long standing correction is desired, I would choose fat in these areas. Alcohol does not affect the volume of...
For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest...
