Is there something I can do to get rid of the bumps that were a result from the Cellfina procedure a year ago?

It's been 1 year since my cellfina treatment and i still have some bumps on the back of my thighs that were created by cellfina. I look so much worse than i did before i had this done! Ive had numerous discussions with the doctor to see he recommended me to do anything to help healing & questions for the bumps over the year. He said to be patient and didn't suggest anything else, not even a massage (even when asked if i should). I need a second opinion! Please help.

This is tough to answer without pictures and needs an in-person evaluation. Usually, acombination approach is needed to give the most improvement. Cellfina is the best treatment for cellulite, but it works best in combination with Sculptra, and body treatments like Exilis Ultra/Venus Legacy, Cellutone/z wave.  A VASER HI DEF procedure can be done for more contouring. Thank you for your question. Sorry to hear about your outcome following the Cellfina procedure. It is very difficult to address your question without pictures. Some suggestions would be BTL Exilis or Venus Legacy and the Zimmer Z wave or BTL Cellutone. At this point, it sounds like you need to go in for a consult with a provider experienced with body sculpting and Cellfina. Hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Cellfina works best for the buttock and posterior thighs.  It is not effective where there is loose skin.

Thank you for your question.  Bumps after properly done Cellfina is highly unusual, please post pictures.  We often times see delayed hyperpigmentation and bruising which can be adequately treated with combinations of topical steroids and tci drugs, but it sounds like you have actual herniation of tissue.  We have seen this on the anterior thighs when treating angular to the plane of the dimple, but have not seen it on the posterior thighs, where it seems you can treat at any angle.  On the anterior time does usually resolve this complication.  Again, please post pictures.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias

As we increase our patient base of Cellfina treatments we are learning more and more about the long-term potential problems. Overall, Cellfina is a wonderful technology for buttock dimpling and SELECTED thigh dimpling. Unfortunately, this procedure is being performed more and more frequently for the wrong reasons. However, residual localized bulges in the thighs can be improved with micro-suctioning and, in some cases, fat transfer. We advise our patients to wait 12 months before making any decisions regarding  corrective procedures.
