Treatment for cellulite; Would Cellfina work for me, and if not, what would help? (photo)

Question

I have always been uncomfortable wearing shorts and swimsuits due to the cellulite on the back of my thighs, despite the fact that I am thin and fit and work out regularly. I've heard about Cellfina, which sounds promising, but read that it works for deep dimples, not "wavy" cellulite, which I think I have.

Hello and thank-you for your question!
Cellfina is the latest break though for the treatment of cellulite. Cellfina targets the fibrous bands which are the source of the dimpling in cellulite. It is most effective for the treatment of deep dimples and depressions of the buttocks and back of the thighs. It is less effective in the treatment of generalized waviness. Cellfina is a minimally invasive treatment performed in the office. We are seeing an extremely high level of satisfaction for our patients treated with Cellfina. The investigational studies for Cellfina have just been released and have shown an impressive patient satisfaction rate of 85% at 3 months, 94% at one year and 96% at 2 years. This is a very exciting solution for the many women who suffer from the embarrassment of cellulite.
Cellfina has received FDA clearance for the treatment of cellulite of the buttocks and back of the thighs. We are currently limiting our treatments to these areas. It is less effective for treatment of generalized waviness seen with skin laxity. With time, further studies will be completed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Cellfina in other areas.

Thank you for your question.Cellfina is an FDA approved minimally invasive procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite for at least two years on the buttocks and back of the thighs of women.
  
It works by releasing the internal bands that cause the cellulite dimpling and so we have not seen any fat atrophy. You should not see much of a difference with weight gain or loss but this also has not been studied.
  
Other areas of the body with dimpling, it is important to make sure it is truly cellulite before treatment.
  
It is common to have swelling bruising and firmness after the procedure. This can last for a few weeks.
  
It is different than Cellulaze which is a laser. 
  
If you have had previous poor results with cellulaze, you can still do Cellfina.
  
Cellfina has shown 100% noticeable improvement and 96% satisfaction in all patients at 2 years. 
  
Cellfina is designed to be a one time procedure. 
  
It can be used on women with all skin types but caution should be taken if theres a history of keloiding.
  
It can also be combined with other treatments such as Thermi or
  
Ulthera if skin tightening is needed.
  
We have done Sculpsure and Coolsculpting if fat reduction is wanted, but its best to wait 3 months to see the results before proceeding.
  
It can also be done at the same time as other procedures such as liposuction and BBL or as a stand alone procedure in the office.

of cellulite to the buttock and thigh.  We have seen our best results when
treating areas of isolated dimpling.  However, some cellulite that is being
created by structural bands can certainly respond to the treatment on the

The back of your thighs show significant waviness and cellulite. However, cellulite affects up to 85% of adult women and can be extremely difficult to #correct. Many treatments are ineffective or take multiple sessions to complete with very temporary results. In our practice , we perform Cellfina Platinum or Platinum Plus which uses other modalities include #Velashape3 and P-wave impulse therapy which in particular will improve your #thighs for long lasting results.
When used on #moderate to #severe cellulite of the buttock and thighs, Cellfina works by treating the rubber-band-like connective tissue that causes cellulite. When these “rubber bands” under the skin are cut, the fat trapped underneath in dimples “snaps” back into place, creating a full, smooth appearance.There is no cutting and no incisions. A combination approach would give the most improvement. Cellfina is the best treatment for cellulite, but it works best in combination with Sculptra, and body treatments like Exilis Ultra/Venus Legacy, Cellutone/z wave.  A VASER HI DEF procedure can be done for more contouring. Thank you for your question and posting your picture. You are correct in your assertion that Cellfina works best on dimples and must be used very cautiously on wavy lines. We have been using a combination of InModes FaceTtite hand piece and Sculptra to treat these areas with good success. We follow up with Venus Legacy treatments in the weeks following your initial treatment. FaceTite is a device which uses injectible radio-frequency (RF) energy beneath the skin by inserting a small probe. Another alternative is ThermiTight which is another form of injectible RF. Both devices helps to destroy fat and tighten the skin. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Cellfina is best for dimpled cellulite on the posterior thigh and buttock.  The images you have shared are not best treated with Cellfina.

Cellfina does work best for deep dimples, and from your pictures only a few of the spots seem to be true dimples,  The rest of the horizontal lines may be due to a combination of skin laxity and superficial cellulite and normal skin tension lines.  You could consider skin tightening over the areas with  Exilis or Ultherapy and combining these treatments with Sculptra injections for any residual dimples of cellulite that remain after your skin treatments.Good luck.
