Will hip augmentation make my butt look bigger? (photos)

Question

I have a cute butt rather than a big butt but I’m more concerned about my not-so hour-glass figure. Therefore, I’m thinking about getting fat transfered to my hips. With this process, Will my butt get slightly bigger ?

Unfortunately fat transfer to the hip area is often met with failure because the fat survives quite poorly in this area. I agree with the decision to carve out more of a slim waist line with liposuction. However, a more reliable, predictable and permanent hip dip augmentation would result with custom designed and fitted cosmetic hip implants. If done to your dimensions and desires, the hip implants will not make your buttock any bigger. Glad to be of help.

Thanks for your question. It is difficult to answer your question without examining you myself and seeing your hip dips. However, it is possible to transfer fat to only the hip area. Personally, I like to blend the fat from the hips in to the buttocks so everything flows, but your buttocks doesn't necessarily need to get bigger. Make sure you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

The short answer is yes. Because in order to fill in the hip dips you have to add volume to the central aspect of the butt and build out all of the fat all the way to the hip. But that doesn't mean you have to be huge--it is all about the shape. The main goal is to make a beautiful butt and not just a large one. Hip dips have to be corrected in order to achieve this shape--the Ogee Shape.

You should have very nice shape with liposuction of the abdomen, sides and back (Lipo 360) with a small to moderate fat transfer to your hips.  It should not make your buttocks look too large.

Fat grafting of the buttocks can be artful and precise in the right hands.  I see and revise a lot of BBLs where the whole focus is volume with the end result often being a grotesque body dysmorphia aka "diaper butt."  By carving down your midsection using liposuction and adding fat to the lateral quadrant of the buttocks, you have the potential for a natural and beautiful result.
