IPL laser treatment: when will these purple spots fade away? (Photo)

Question

Had Ipl laser for my larger veins from rosacea and though no broken skin and 24 hours later most swelling gone how long does it take for the resulting purple spots to fade away? I look like I was in a car accident!

IPL and PDL (pulsed dye laser) target hemoglobin through coagulation of the vessel and also breaking the wall of the vessel down.  When this occurs, a "bruise like area" or purpura is seen.  This is a common finding post treatment and will resolve in 5-10 days.  At 4-6 weeks post treatment, the benefits of the treatment can be visualized.
