Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition.Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Thank you for your question. Intense-pulsed light therapy or IPL is designed to reverse signs of aging like brown spots and dull skin tone. While the procedure is most frequently requested for the face, the device works equally well on the forearms and the backs of the hands. Like the face, these areas tend to be exposed to UV rays much of the time, resulting in signs of aging quicker than you might see in other portions of the skin that do not see as much sunlight. We can also combine IPL treatments with the use of fillers on the back of the hands to reduce the appearance of prominent veins due to thinning skin. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist that has extensive experience treating all types of skin concerns for a treatment recommendation.
Hands and arms can be rejuvenated with a combination of fillers, fat and lasers. Fillers into this area can improve the appearance of the back of the hands by camouflaging tendons and veins and improving the appearance of her hands and skin by helping lines, wrinkles and folds as well as skin texture due to the long term collagen production. Cannulas prevent bruising and swelling and decrease the pain during injection. Radiesse lasts up to one year, but unlike other fillers, it provides long-term collagen production. This means that even after the filler has dissolved, the area it was injected to is still improved because of the collagen that built. The Fraxel Laser can be used to completely rejuvenate and tighten the skin on the arms and hands. After a few days, the skin will be completely fresh with rebuilt collagen, reduced of any wrinkles and lines, and be much tighter. IPL can be used to address dark spots.I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
IPL is great for improving the coloration and removing spots from aging forearms and hands. To improve the skin a combination of fractionated laser (such as PIXEL PRO) as well as hand filler (Radiesse) can reverse the effects of aging. The laser treatment will tighten the skin and improve the overall quality. The hand filler will restore volume and hide your tendons and bones which can cause a gaunt "skeleton" appearance. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MDBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonIG: @drjohnsonlee
IPL is a great technology to correct skin damage such as sun spots, redness, capillaries and fine lines. Skin rejuvenation is best achieved with multiple modalities. Fillers, chemical peels, Venus Legacy can make a striking improvement. I also recommend the right nutrients and possible hormonal replacement if indicated since estrogens promote collagen production. You need to find a physician with knowledge in skin aging.
