I had Sculpsure over a week ago. I'm extremely sore and now have a bruise on the treatment area. Is this normal?

Sorry you are experience bruising and pain.  75% of patients will experience some pain with an average duration of 7-8 days in the FDA studies. Bruising was only 6% and goes away in about 12 days.If you are having a second treatment, you might try dialing down the setting until you are more comfortable.  That would not compromise the results. Fortunately your pain and bruising should go away soon.

Hello,  what you are describing is totally normal and expected.  Heat form the treatment created inflammation and that's what causes the feeling of soreness for you.  it's a good sign.  Please avoid taking any anti inflammatory medications and use Tylenol if needed. Thank you for your question. Sculpsure may cause patients to feel a little tenderness in the treated areas but this sensation should not disrupt normal activities. Please remain patient because patients can expect to see fat reduction in treated areas in about 6-12 weeks after just one treatment. Always work with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.

Yes, there may be some tenderness and/or swelling which may last for 3-6 months after Sculpsure. If you're concerned, I recommend following up with your Doctor for a formal evaluation and oral neurontin for pain management. A combination of treatments is needed for best results with Sculpsure. I recommend combining Sculpsure or coolsculpting with Vanquish and Venus Legacy/Exilis Ultra treatments. A VASER hi definition procedure would give you the best results with fat removal and athletic definition but would require more downtime. Pain can occur following a sculpture treatment. Some heat discomfort can occur during the treatment and will occur at higher settings. At higher settings, better results will occur. Bruising usually occurs from a tight belt or the applicators squeezing the skin. Don't be alarmed, this will go away.

Yes. It is normal to be sore. Everyone has their own pain threshold, but the soreness means that things are working. Make sure to drink a lot of water to stay hydrated and if you need to, take Tylenol for the pain instead of Advil. It will resolve as the swelling diminishes. Best of luck.

Although unusual, tenderness and bruising can occur after SculpSure or CoolSculpting.  This is temporary and will resolve on it's on within the next couple of weeks.

It typically takes up to 2 weeks for bruising and soreness to dissipate, but it may take you a few more days. If the discomfort worsens or persists longer than 2 weeks, communicate with your treatment provider. 

Tenderness is common after a SculpSure treatment and usually last for 1-2 weeks. Bruising is not usually an issue. If you have any concerns you can always follow up with your provider.

Your procedure and post-procedure experience sounds normal. During treatment on the abdomen, many women note the sensation feels like menstrual cramps, and some experience the discomfort a little more than others. Post-treatment, most patients experience tenderness or soreness in the treatment area, similar to the feeling of soreness after an intense workout.
