Does my bruising at almost 3 weeks post op need to be checked out ASAP? (Photo)

Question

I had surgery 8/28. The bruising was almost gone Tuesday. There was just slight yellowing. Then bruising started coming on 2 days ago. My dr said he will see me Monday. Does this look or sound like something that needs to be checked out asap.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  It is unusual to have bruising develope weeks after surgery and it would be wise to see your surgeon sooner than later for an evaluation.  You may have developed a hematoma that will require office or surgical room intervention.  Best wishes.

Hi! Thank you for the question and for your picture.  It is unusual for new bruising to appear two weeks after surgery unless you have developed a hematoma. My recommendation is for you to see your surgeon sooner than later for an evaluation.  I hope this helps and best of luck to you!

It is unusual for new bruising to appear two weeks after other bruising has resolved.  If you experience swelling of that breast or the bruising worsens, contact your surgeon to request an examination.
